Environmental Policy
thomas westcott Ltd is a firm of Chartered Accountants with four directors and a further 31 staff based in our two offices at Barnstaple and Ilfracombe, North Devon.
We recognise that our operations result in damage to the environment in which we live. It is our aim to reduce the environmental impacts of our business and operate in an environmentally responsible manner.
This environmental policy applies to all aspects of our business including accounting, administration and cleaning. All employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met.
Objectives
Our objective is to prevent pollution and the use of unsustainable resources in the local and global environment and to this end we aim to:
- Reduce the generation of waste wherever possible, including energy, water, paper products and other materials.
- Reuse office materials wherever possible, including envelopes, paper, furniture & office equipment.
- Recycle waste wherever possible, including confidential & non-confidential waste paper and card, ink cartridges and toners.
- Use recycled products wherever possible.
- Use cleaning products that do not harm the environment.
- Comply with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations.
- Ensure all staff are informed and trained on how to achieve our objectives.
- Promote the implementation of this policy to all clients and suppliers in order to encourage them to adopt sound environmental practices themselves.
- Annually monitor and communicate the results of the implementation of this policy with the aim of continuously adapting and improving our environmental performance.
