thomas westcott & the Environment All the directors and staff at Davison Bedworth Ltd currently live and work within North Devon. Much of North Devon’s coastline is classed as an “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty” (AONB), including the seaside town of Ilfracombe where our Head Office is situated. Britain’s first UNESCO designated Biosphere Reserve is centred on Braunton Burrows, North Devon which lies directly between the towns of Ilfracombe and Barnstaple. Barnstaple is a market town situated on the estuary, with the River Taw running through it out to the Atlantic, and has won many awards in the Town in Bloom competitions which also focus on environmental issues. As an AONB, North Devon is one of Britain’s “Finest Landscapes” and contains a surprising diversity of scenery, landscapes and habitats. It has been designated as a “protected landscape”. We recognise the importance of protecting and improving the local environment in which we live and work. We are committed to our environmental policy and recognise the impact that the local environment has upon the wider global environment.
